As the global nonwoven industry anticipates a robust annual growth rate of over 8.7%, Thailand is at the forefront of holding 48% of market share in Southeast Asia’s nonwovens industry. The inaugural Asia Nonwovens Technology Expo (ANTEX Asia 2024), taking place from 13-15 November 2024 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bangkok, Thailand, will showcase Thailand’s pioneering role in the sustainable evolution of nonwoven technologies.

A thriving industry: Thailand at the forefront

According to a research report, the nonwoven fabric market was valued at US$50.33 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach US$148.387 billion by 2036. Thailand, with its substantial production capacity of 162,000 tonnes per year, dominates the regional market. This growth is propelled by the industry’s shift towards high-value production through innovative and sustainable technologies.

Dr. Chanchai Sirikasemlert, Executive Director of the Thailand Textile Institute, emphasized, “The Thai textile industry is adapting to a new era focused on creating added value with advanced innovation and technology. Nonwoven fabrics, favored for their durability, water resistance, and environmental benefits, are at the forefront of this shift. We recognized the potential and readiness of Thailand. ANTEX Asia 2024 is one of our initiatives to promote trade and investment in the nonwoven industry and we look forward for Thailand as the production and export hub in Southeast Asia.”
