Södra is expanding its presence in North America as part of a proactive growth strategy for pulp and sawn timber. The investment includes a new sales office near Boston, Massachusetts, and a logistics partnership, strengthening Södra’s local presence, market responsiveness and platform for long-term growth and competitiveness.
Södra is strengthening its position in the global market by establishing a commercial office in Massachusetts., near Boston, to serve the United States. The office will oversee sales of both pulp and sawn timber, supporting Södra’s growth in a market with solid demand for responsibly sourced forest products.
“The United States is an important market where we see significant opportunities to grow together with our customers. By increasing our local presence, we can collaborate more closely, gain deeper insights into customer needs and develop our offer in ways that create value for both our pulp and sawn timber customers,” says Martin Chovan, Sales Director at Södra Cell, who will oversee the new office.
The investment is a strategic step in Södra’s ambition to grow alongside its customers in North America. With a stronger local presence, Södra can work more closely with customers, respond faster to their needs and improve market access. The expanded platform will support long-term partnerships and create new opportunities to deliver value in one of the world’s most important forest products markets.
“This is a proactive commercial investment in a market where our products, quality and sustainability profile are well aligned with customer expectations. We already have a strong foundation in North America, and this investment gives us even better opportunities to grow together with both existing and new customers,” says Henrik Wettergren, VP Södra International.
