For its 5th edition, the Latam Paper Conference 2024 returned to Mexico City this week. Over the course of three busy days, 470 delegates from across the Latin American region, Europe and Asia convened for the event. Attendees had the option to participate in three parallel cycles of technical presentations focused on Paper and Board, Tissue, and Corrugated materials. A total of 45 industry suppliers delivered presentations showcasing their latest technological advancements aimed at assisting producers in enhancing their manufacturing processes, whether in terms of runnability, sustainability, or energy efficiency.

The networking opportunities provided at the event were central to its success. Suppliers and paper manufacturers alike had numerous chances to interact within the exhibition hall, which hosted over 100 machinery and equipment suppliers.

During the gala dinner, which featured a vibrant folkloric show as usual, the organizers chose to recognize three industry figures for their outstanding careers and contributions. Robert Weber, the Founder of Turboservice International in Mexico, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Similarly, Santiago Reyna, the CEO of Cartones Villa Marina in Peru, and Luis Reséndiz, the General Manager of Convertipap in Mexico, were also honored for their significant contributions to the industry.

The next Latam PAPER is already scheduled for June 2025, in Brasil this time. And a second event in a Spanish speaking country of the region like Argentina or Peru, is under discussion.
